The three extracurricular activities that I think are very popular is Football (sports) , Key Club, and mock trial! I would recommend extracurricular activities such as speech and debate (for it improves public speaking and overal English) and any particular sport for it creates a bond due to similar attraction/interest.

The three extracurricular activities most popular in my school is football (our team actually won state this year so next year the number of players should greatly expand), track and field (most kids can find an event they like since there are so many diverse options), and Key Club (which greatly push for volunteering). The extracurriculars that I highly recommend are Mock Trial and Cross Country. Mock Trial is a great extra curricular because not only does it help students become more confident in public speaking but does also help students in english and history class. Cross Country is a great extra curricular because, when you are entering high school, you are nervous about what is yet to come, whether you will make friends or pass your classes but cross country becomes likes a second family, if you ever need any help with homework the other runners will be more than willing to help and the runners become great friends over the season.

Sports, ASB, volunteering, and more. Join Track & Field, or any sport, join Key Club for volunteering opportunities, and the band program is pretty good.

Redlands East Valley is a great school and is highly active in every activity it offers. The first popular would be East Valley Football. Second would be Marching Band. Third is varsity soccer. I'd recommend Soccer, because it's for both boys and girls and it's a good way to find an "in" into any University or College that seeks good reputation of a sports team of this High School.
