The most popular ones are Lamplighters - our backstage crew - National Honor Society and DECA. Lamplighters operates like a tiny family, and it's a lot of fun, so I'd recommend that.

The most popular extracurricular activities include sports, musical organizations, and honor societies. Many Whitman students are athletes as well, so sport events are incredibly popular, and one can always find crowds of students at every event, especially at our boy's soccer games. Along with sports, we also have many organizations filled with students that have a passion for music, including jazz band, marching band, chamber orchestra, concert choir, and theater production. Everyone who participates in these organizations is talented beyond belief, and many students show up to their events as well. At Whitman, we have a diverse range of honor societies, from Art to Theatre to World Languages to English, as well as National Honor Society. As a Whitman student it is very difficult to not be involved in anything, since there are so many opportunity is omnipresent, but if I had to recommend an activity it would be sports. Whether playing a sport or at a sport event, it is amazing to see the amount of school spirit we have, and it brings so much energy to our school.

Whitman Drama productions involve a great number of students--in performance, backstage tech and people who come to watch the shows. Sports teams and the newspaper, The Black & White, are also popular. I'd definitely recommend journalism as an extracurricular at my school.
