Student, W Las Vegas High School, Class of 2016,
Three extracurricular activities at Las Vegas High School which are most popular would be sports, National Honor Society and performing arts activities. These are most popular and also the top three I recommend. Through these activities, you meet many people and acquire many skills. National Honor Society works on things to help our school such as fund raisers or charity events and through NHS you meet many intellectuals. Not only does it overall help you with charity, fund raising and meeting people, it looks excellent on your college resume. From doing sports, it helps you in many ways. It helps you stay in shape, stay out of trouble and it helps your overall high school experience, by giving you a sense of school spirit and a group of people who enjoy the same things as you. Playing a sport in high school also opens your doors to tons of new opportunities, but introducing you to new aspects and possibly different ways to pay for college. I would recommend joining a performing arts, extracurricular activity for the reason that it adds a talent to you and many times, the people in these programs are very easy to get along with. The choir program at my school is like a family, they sing together and spend numerous hours together practicing songs, dances after school, selecting their wardrobe, choosing their music and recording their music. As for the orchestra in my school, we put in very hard work and we as like a family as well, we are a family inside of school and outside of school and we also collaborate with the choir and band through out the year, so our programs are very united. Overall, joining any of these clubs will provide an excellent experience. There is a large variety of each of these extracurricular activities, so if you don't like one, you can try the other. I definitely do recommend doing something.
