Student, Emil E. Holt Sr. High School, Class of 2016,
The extracurriculars available to students at Holt High are abundant, which is part of the reason it is so difficult to name only three. However, there are a few that come to mind when thinking of activities that really get Holt students involved. The first would have to be the sports. Whether you are a player on the team or a fan cheering in the crowd, sports at Holt give everyone the chance to feel involved. There is not a single activity that I can think of that brings Holt together more than watching our teams play. Next to sports, the most popular activity would have to be DECA. Throughout my years at Holt, it seems that DECA membership has done nothing but grow. Not only are the DECA members passionate about the club itself, but they always make sure to get everyone involved by hosting different events and activities around school. Last but not least, the drama club has proven to be quite popular among Holt students. The members of this club always put on a great show for the schools. The club itself is very hands on, and calls for people of all talents. Whether you are into production or costumes or acting itself, the drama club has a place for you. While these are just three of out offered extracurriculars, there is much more to get involved with. One that I have been involved with for three years now and that I would recommend to just about anyone is FCCLA. This organization is all about bringing students together with a common goal of giving back to the community. The meeting are always fun and helping out our own community always results in a great feeling. All the clubs at Holt are great and I would recommend them to anyone wanting to get involved. The most important thing is to find what you like and create your own niche in the school community!
