My personal favorite characteristic of the LAMP student body is its lack of a "typical" mold into which students fall. While all students are intelligent and academically motivated, they come from a wide variety of ethnic, racial, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds and have a wide variety of interests supplementing their academic work. To be successful at LAMP, one simply must be willing to work hard. All the tools are provided for a student to succeed provided he or she is motivated and interesed in working for success. As for a typical student, LAMP contains everywhere from Catholic Indians to African American Atheists to Jewish Caucasians; all ethnicities, religions, interests, family lives, and characteristics are highly diverse and varied among the student body of LAMP.
