Graduate students at Emory love hanging out at the very hipster Porter's Beer Bar in Little Five Points, visit the incredible Piedmont Park, and go to the Botanical gardens!
Lots of Emory students are into volunteering - it helps boost your resume and your mood! A lot of student's also go to wonderful Wednesdays, which are events held by are college every Wednesday. Each week has a different, cool and unique theme! One week is for our mascot, Dooley! Emory students also LOVE to eat. They all visit Lil's, or Pasta John for food all the time! Atlanta itself also has a large amount of food places!
Going out into Atlanta or downtown Decatur for brunch, walking around Lullwater park, and going out to the city at night or to fraternity row.
At Emory University students partake in a myriad of activities, reflecting the overwhelming diversity of the student body. I can confidently say that every student at Emory has at least one club, research opportunity or hobby in which they actively participate in. Students often host fundraising events at the local restaurants nearby or outdoor activities to raise money for a good cause while spending time with fellow students. Additionally, Emory students take advantage of the nearby events and hot spots of Atlanta including the Coke Museum, Atlanta Aquarium, Little 5 Points and Piedmont Park. Although Emory students have a large array of interests and pass-times, they also pride themselves on a work hard, play hard mentality. On weekends, students may visit college night at the High Museum, listen to music at a pub in Decatur or simply recover from a week of midterms by curling up next to Netflix.
What I would do is 1. watch movies with my friends 2. go out to eat Korean food 3. visit a local sauna
People at Emory will spend a lot of time at Piedmont Park walking their dogs and playing sports. They may also choose to go out in either Midtown are Buckhead. Both of these places having many dining and entertainment options.
The first thing that they like doing is to go to the local mall. Every saturday there is school shuttle that takes them to the mall and it is very popular among the students. Also, every weekend there is an activity bus that takes to local events and students love to go on those adventures. The third activity that students prefer is going out to bars on the weekends to relax and drink.
1) Dooley Week (Celebrates our unofficial mascot- a skeleton!)
2) Campus Hosted Concerts (T-Pain, Sean Kingston etc.)
3) Participate in Reading Day/Moonlight Breakfast (A full day of activities right before finals such as massages and a petting zoo/Breakfast at night with fun events)
1) Go for a ride around atlanta with friends to go find a place to eat or something to do. 2) Go to the mall and find new activities. 3) Play video games with one another.
Emory School of Medicine students enjoy traveling to nearby hiking spots, such as stone mountain, and hiking or being active. We also enjoy playing intramural sports against the other graduate schools, such as the Emory Law School. Finally, we enjoy socializing at bars and other social events on the weekends (when we aren't studying!).
I am in grad school. We are primarily non-traditional nurses seeking higher education. We are extremely boring. We seek to leave school early so we can spend time with our families.
The top three things we do would include the following: 1. leave campus 2. go to the mall 3. hang out on McDonough field
There are so many opportunities that my campus has to offer. One thing you get to participate in as an incoming freshman is Songfest. This is a big competition between freshman dorms where you sing and choreograph dances to various popular songs of the day in order to win the ultimate prize: bragging rights! Another fun activity on Emory University's campus is the tradition of "Wonderful Wednesday". Each and every Wednesday, various clubs and associations set up their tables in the middle of campus and invite students to come see what they are all about. This is the main time that students and staff are given candy, various prizes, free food, and sometimes free t-shirts. The third most fun thing to do at Emory University is to just simply engage with your fellow colleagues. There are so many spaces on campus built for simple dialogue and community building. This facilitation of togetherness is one thing that I appreciate at Emory University.
Top 3 things would have to be going to nearby restaurants to eat like Chipotle, studying at Club Libs (aka Library), and working out.
Outgoing students head over to Georgia Tech during the weekend to party, aspiring mad scientists hang out in the science building to chat with professors and put their innovative minds to work, and, to be frank, every student ironically studies in their free time.
The top three things students at Emory do for fun are: play inter mural sports, eat at the many places in atlanta and go exploring!
Emory students love to explore Atlanta, taking advantage of things like the Aquarium, Coca-Cola World, Piedmont Park, and the wonderful bar and restaurant scene within 20 minutes from the University. Volunteering is a big part of Emory students' lives. From on-campus organizations like Emory Cares to a plethora of community organizations, volunteering is enjoyable and rewarding to all involved. Club/Intramural/Varsity sports are open to everyone and an easy way to try new things!
Students at Emory University have fun by joining clubs, exploring Atlanta and the city surrounding campus, and socializing with and meeting other students.
