Many people when first mentioning George Washington high school would be quick to think that the school isn't very good and is filled with violence. However, that is the past George Washington high school. As of 2012, the school as been doing nothing but improving upon itself and has become a school I am proud to say I am attending. With the inclusion of the International Baccalaureate program, many students are able to participate in a rigorous program where they are able to earn college credit. I would definitely recommend attending George Washington high school because it is a quality school where students are in a safe environment for learning and are informed and encouraged to go to college.

Honestly, this school is no worse or better than any other school. The IB program might be good for offering college credit if you get high enough score on your test. The AP and traditional courses are nothing special. I would recommend it, not because its great but more just because you need somewhere to go, right?

No, i would not. This school is more for student who try but give up. There is a few students who really do care for their education and strive really hard. in this school there is still a small portion of students who do not care and have to come cause they have to is their local public high school not selective lets keep that in mind.

Yes, I would recommend attending George Washington High school because at George, we have so many different curricular programs and extracurricular activities to choose from. There are so many different opportunities and you have the ability to open so many doors in your future. My first semester of freshman year, I was in the traditional honors and AP program, and then I decided that instead I wanted to join the IB program. George allowed me to make that transition. Was it easy? Definitely not, however my school has so many teachers that are there to help and support me that it made it that much easier. My sophomore year I joined the soccer team at my school. Am I the best soccer player ever? Definitely not, however it still opened so many doors for me because I met so many new people that I wouldn't of know if I hadn't. The best thing about George is that you have the ability to choose what you want to do with your education and the time that you spend there.

I would not recommend attending GWHS. The Danville Public School system has been declining in value for the past several years since it lost one of it's best superintendents, Dr. Sue Davis. Since then, the entire school system has been dealing with shortage of staff and discipline issues that since there is no consistency with the adults in the school, cannot be easily handled and often students get in trouble who shouldn't and students who shouldn't get away with their rude behavior and comments get away with it anyway.
