I think anyone passionate about school and dedicated to their studies should go wherever they want to go. You do not have to be typical, you should be extraordinary.
A typical day for a student at UTA would be enjoying the nice weather and beautiful trees on the way to class. Great teachers that support you and assist you the whole way.. Overall feeling like your day has been made because so many people believe in you. You should go to UTA if you're looking for a smaller school and you plan on commuting. You want to know your professors up close and personal and not be identified as a number

I am an online student, so I am unfamiliar with the students, but the type of person who should attend is anyone who is looking to forward their education, whether it be online or in class.
A typical UTA student is one who is concerned with their education, and wants to get hands on experience in their particular field of study. UTA is not exactly a party-school; it is a place to learn how things work in the real-world, and get experience doing things that way. A Maverick takes an active role in their own education, and works hard to get things done.
The typical person is a cool, laid-back kind of person. The people are nice and friendly and are easy to get along with. This is a school for people who love connecting with new people and have life long real life relationships. There are some amazing people here from all walks oflife.
A majority of students at UT Arlington, are commuter students with either part-time job or full time jobs, which demands a lot of discipline to maintain a favorable GPA. UTA is widely know as a university with a diverse student population. That being said, it is difficult to describe a typical student, as every student here is different, We have students with different backgrounds, different races, different majors, different interests, etc. Based on that, I feel that any type of student is welcome here, as there will be at least one portion of the student population where he or she will fit in.
Anybody should attend the school, they have several majors you can choose from. They offer bachelor classes as well as master's programs.
The school has more of a commuter lifestyle to it, not much happens later in the days and it is pretty quite on the weekends. If you are very serious about your education, then you might want to look into UTA, as most students are not worried about the college life, as they are more focused on the education. Their is still a good student community, you just have to be more open and talk to people.
UT-Arlington is primarily a research and applied institution. Of all students I am familiar with there, most are very industrious, productive, and dedicated to studying. UT-Arlington has a very strong and respectable Nursing and Engineering school, but they're both difficult schools as well. Any person pursuing either of those fields, and who are more career/education focused than anything else should certainly look into UT-Arlington as a possible school selection.
The University of Texas at Arlington has such a diverse student body, it would be hard to describe a typical student because everyone is very unique, that is what is so great about my school.

To give you an idea, imagine you're back in high school, in the cafeteria and everyone is divided into their designated cliques; the athletes, the visual arts fanatics, the video game enthusiasts, the "Mean Girl" styled clique of girls. Now, imagine one of the visual arts students getting up and suddenly going around to each clique and easily talking to them without even blinking. This individual, this person who can so easily jump from one interest group to another, would be the UTA student of the school; the person who has his or her own sense of individuality and a range of acceptance of differences. One of the many aspects that I admire about UT Arlington is the amount of diversity that is present on campus and the extent to which it is embraced. One of the most unique things I experienced in high school was the opportunity of getting to learn and fully immerse myself among new cultures that my classmates introduced me to. After being surrounded by so many different people and ethnic backgrounds, one of my greatest fears going into college was that I would suddenly miss this one key aspect that suddenly made me, me. Thankfully, during orientation, diversity was one of the main subjects emphasized. And that's the thing that makes this question so difficult to answer, each student at UTA is unique. But what truly makes you a Maverick is your ability to be open-minded, to accept, to be curios and interested in learning about those around you, because in turn, it may affect the person you grow to be. UTA promotes self-growth, and a sense of community, just like any other university, but what makes UTA and UTA students unique is our ability to look at any given situation with different perspectives. If you voluntarily choose to limit your knowledge with your own beliefs, then UTA would be a great place for you to expand your knowledge and break out of that habit.
UTA is known for our most diverse student enrollment in the US, therefore we are wide spread on the type of students we have!

First things first, you have to find parking! If you get to class late, then chances are you have to walk (up to) 1.5 miles-YUCK! I like to get to class early and either review for the days lecture, or catch up with friends. I typically go to the coffee shop, or FroYo shop on campus to get in some extra study time to ensure my grades stay up, but its always more fun studying when you have a sweet treat! The person that should attend University of Texas @ Arlington is someone who takes school seriously, the education is phenomenal, but its also very challenging. You have to be responsible and disciplined to make sure you not only complete assignments, but to ensure you truly understand what is going on in your class. There tends to be a lot of critical thinking involved. However, there is also a lot of fun stuff to do! There are concerts, there are a lot of concerts around! We even had Lecrae (a Christian-based rapper) come and play a concert! That had a huge turnout! There are intramurals you are able to join if you are an athletic, or outdoorsy type of person as well! There is definitely something for everyone!

Career focused, goal oriented. Flexible. Driven. Not into sports. Other than that I do not know, that sums up A UTA student to me
The thing is that there is no "typical" student at the University of Texas at Arlington. That is one of the many things that attracted me to the campus since I went to a very diverse high school. Diversity is a key thing that is shown in every classroom that you enter, you always know that no matter where you go and no matter how culturally different you are, you will always be accepted. So I guess a "typical" student of UTA would be one that accepts all cultures and someone who does not discriminate based on what is unknown to them.
