Three reasons anyone should attend TCC is because of the tuition, student debt percentage and opportunities. Tidewater Community College's in state tuition is only about $3,200 per semester for full time students taking 18 credits, and you only need 12 to be consider full time. So just image if you were only taking 3-4 classes on 12 credits. You'd pay a thousand dollars less! Tidewater Community College is very inexpensive. In fact TCC is so affordable that 3 of 5 students graduate debt free! Which is my favorite financial part about TCC. Also, TCC offers many internships to students from all career backgrounds (excluding performing arts - but no worries, TCC is surrounded by Union performing arts establishments in Norfolk and Virginia Beach, so auditions are always being posted). It's great going to a college that is surrounded by the business you are going to school for. It's so motivating and it just makes the college experience one worth working that much harder for!

TCC is super convenient because there are several campuses across Hampton Roads, and they offer a variety of class structures. They have online, on campus and hybrid classes. Probably the most important part about choosing TCC, is the crazy amount of money you can save! A semester at TCC is a tiny fraction of the cost of a semester at a university. My favorite reason for coming to TCC is their guaranteed acceptance programs that are offered so that students can easily transfer to an incredible 4-year institutions to continue their education.

It's a great community college that offers a good education at a lower cost tuition rate. TCC offers most courses online so full-time workers can still go to school at their own pace.

It's affordable, hands on and quick. For some may take more then 2 years to complete their studies. Most colleges charge like $1000 per class TCC doesn't. There has not been not one class I've attended where a teacher didn't help , when you need that extra help the teachers are there even thru email. And when I mean for quick , the minimum years/semesters students are there for are 2 years 4 semesters , 6 semesters is you count the summer classes.

I am a soon to be Freshman there and can only provide so much of this question. When I was touring the school, I saw a lot of people helping each other study in the big library they have. so one reason could be for the friendly people and atmosphere. Another reason I think is for the gym they have. Although I play soccer, they don't have a soccer class but they have one for Basketball. I was disappointed with this but there are a lot of leagues here so its no big deal. For the last reason, I think that the teachers are really friendly and they really care about your success and want you to graduate.

The first reason would be to get an associate degree. Second if they want to move on to a 4 year school, students can get their start at TCC and then further their education somewhere else. Third would be that students can explore their options and get a general associate and then get a more specialized degree or certification.

TCC is an excellent place to go to get all of your general education credits out of the way, before taking on your main study so that you won't have to extra class along the way later on. It's also a great place to get one on one with the teachers there. TCC also provides a wonderful and safe place to express yourself in whatever way you like without strict restrictions and limitations.

The cost is reasonable. I paid to go to 7 credit hours and only paid just over 1,000. They work with disabilities and military. The atmosphere is that of a community.

  1. Plenty of opportunities: We've even got some majors that some local universities don't. Physical therapy being one of them, and Virginia weslyian being one that doesn't offer it.
  2. Fun fun fun fuuuuuun~ A pretty chill atmosphere except when its not. You can find just about any kind of person here and hang out with them
  3. one on one time with the prof. Less students than a university = more time available to other students
