Purdue is well-known for their prestigious engineering program, and therefore classes can be quite rigorous. According to the School of Mechanical Engineering’s main page, most students spend approximately 60-70 hours per week on work related to their major. However, it is advised that the amount of time spent on work per week be varied based on the student’s performance in the classroom. In short, a Mechanical Engineering major can adjust his workload based on his/her needs. For more information, it might be helpful to view the FAQ on Purdue’s Mechanical Engineering page.
