Student, Harrisburg Academy, Class of 2016,
There are two types of students at the Academy. Those whose parents forced them to go there and those who are genuinely interested in their education and agree with their parents decision of attending the Academy. I will speak for the students who care about their education because I am one of them. We are very responsible and mature compared to peers from other schools. Although it is competitive and our course loads are difficult we help each other succeed and class room discussions are lively. Most of our conversations are geared towards some school activity and I usually see the same people 6-7 days of the week. We are well rounded and balance academics, sports, and creative outlets like theatre. People are either in everything or nothing. The ones who are in nothing usually are forced to be there by their parents.
The type of person who should attend the Academy are those who truly want to challenge themselves and gain a better education. High school is what you make of it and the Academy gives you the opportunities to do so.
