Students should attend RPI because it is a college with a collaborative environment where the students work together and motivate each other, students are given the opportunity to explore and develop their own ideas and interest instead of only learning through lectures, and because students are given the guidance that better prepares them for careers after college and for passing exams for licensure in specific fields of study.

There are many more reasons than three for someone to attend RPI, but I can narrow it down to the top three. The first reason is that RPI is one of the best engineering schools in the world and you would be very hard pressed to find an institution that will teach you as much as you will learn here. The second reason is that RPI is a great place to market yourself and make connections with those already in the business world. The career fairs here are always packed with strong companies that only want the best students. The final reason is that RPI provides a strong balance of academics with social life and athletics. It is hard to find a place where you see so many different types of students and people meshing together into one community.

The top three reasons to attend RPI are if you like the college or area, the college has a strong area of study in the field in which you plan to major, or if you enjoy participating in clubs, as RPI has over 200 different clubs that you can participate in.

First of all, you have to love engineering. Not that we don't ave other majors but chances are, even if you study business, most of your friends will be engineers. Embrace it. It's a lifestyle choice. Secondly, RPI has a rigorous course load that challenges its students. You really learn how to study, something many of us did not need in high school. And, finally, the campus is so beautiful. I love the winter because everything looks so clean under the fresh snow. Plus, there's always someone ready for a snowball fight. Or try going sledding down the hill at EMPAC!
