The Florence/Muscle Shoals area is convenient to Nashville and Birmingham and the school is a comfortable size situated in a quaint town. The cost is relatively low and their are many scholarships available. The Honors College at the University of Alabama offers smaller classes and offers additional scholarship and travel money to those who participate. UNA has an Entertainment Industry major that is hard to find at other schools as well as the usual Nursing, Business, Engineering majors that are popular at every university.

All the professors I have had throughout the past two years have cared and taught me to not just do the work because I have to but because it is important and worth the effort to provide better opportunities in your future. There is a plethora of activities so someone can definitely find out where they can be themselves. It will challenge and make you a better student and worker when it comes to doing homework, papers, or even activities outside the courses.

Class size: The small classes (roughly 20-30 students per class) allow for more one on one and hands on interaction. University activities: There is always something to do on campus or in the town of Florence. As a division II university, we have very competitive athletic teams which allow us for Division I level competition and entertainment. There is also always something on campus to attend such as participating in slack lining, kayak water polo, intramural sports or danceathons to raise money for various charities. Location: The town of Florence, AL is rich in history but also has many new commodities that will occupy college students. The town is on the Tennessee river which allows for many outdoor recreational activities not available in other locations. We have a small town that is able to give students the safety and security of a small town with the amenities of a larger city.

The University of North Alabama is located in a very comfortable and safe town. It has a beautiful campus that is very easy to navigate. The student body is large enough for you to meet knew people yet small enough to have good friends.

The first reason people should come here is because the students are nice. They're not overtly mean and most are friendly. The second reason is because whatever program you become a part of will become a second family. The final reason is because we have two lions that can be seen on most days. They are awesome lions.

The professors are great. They won't baby you, but they really want you to succeed. The classes aren't so big that you feel overwhelmed or too small that you feel singled out. Finally, you are bound to make friends. When you live in a dorm, you become really close with them because you already have something in common. If you happen to live off campus (like me), you make friends with not only people in college, but the guys downtown too.
