Yes. Mckay is more than the stereo types they say about. Mckay is a very hard working school and it is all because the teacher work so hard to see us succeed in life. Honestly, if you could go to Mckay you would love it right away, it is like a second home for me.

I would absolutely recommend attending McKay High School! The staff is phenomenal, they go out of their way to assist a student in need, and they make sure that each student is successful for their future. The relationships that McKay has developed with the students, the parents and the community are outstanding. Each person that is involved with the school has a sort of emotional connection to it and feels a need to make it better for future generations to come. McKay is shaped by individuals that take education seriously, so they try to make a safe, comfortable environment for the community and the students to learn as a whole.

I would recommend attending McKay High School. "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view...until you climb into his skin and walk around in it." This quote comes from Harper Lee's famous novel To Kill a Mockingbird. At McKay it is very easy to step into someone's skin and walk around in it because a person sees what it is like to be a minority. It is a truly humbling experience going to a school where the usual majority is the minority. I have been fortunate to spend my elementary and middle school years in similar schools. I would recommend attending McKay for the different outlook someone will carry for the rest of their lives.

If I had the opportunity to choose between attending McKay High School or any other High School, I would definitely choose to attend McKay. Aside from opinions people might have regarding McKay, McKay truly has some of the best opportunities available. This school has a multitude of AP classes and such an immense group of fantastic teachers who not only are qualified for their job but are also some of the most caring teachers I've had the chance of knowing. McKay High School is one of the best places to attend to receive tge most out of a high school education-- and believe me, I have been to two other high schools and the comparison is outstanding.

On any given day, I would attend McKay High School over any other high school, no matter how much more prestigious the other schools are. This is my choice because the teachers work so hard to help the students become successful. Even though they do not get paid for overtime, many stay until 7 or 8 o'clock upon students' requests to assist them in retaking tests or understanding given information. They make students believe they can reach for the stars and beyond, allowing them to feel like they are not inferior compared to the "better" schools. Besides the teachers, students are not "gangsters". They are friendly and sociable students who can make anybody feel like they are welcomed to the school. They work hard to succeed and help form a bond that feels like our school is a community. They have the most pride and spirit for their school I have ever seen. They are proud to go to McKay High School, and for that, I would not attend any other high school because I am proud to go to McKay High School as well.

No, I would not recommend attending Mckay High School if I had the choice. This is because I do not like public school or going out in public in general. I prefer the comfort of my own home.

In all honesty if someone asked me if I would recommend going to McKay High School, I would say no. That is unless you are a troubled individual looking for guidance or a student wanting to improve. My school does have great programs that I would recommend like AVID or TRIO and UpperBound but these programs help those with a finical crisis. McKay also, does not have a lot to offer for kids who are financially stable. We have common clubs, sports, and departments but nothing outstanding. The harsh truth is that we do not get some of the same opportunities that a more wealthy school would get when it comes to the overall being of the school. Our technology is outdated, our classes are enormous, our equipment is beat-up, our school in general is over crowded and the list can continue. My school is known for improving and I am prude of that but I think that it needs a lot more help than people are willingly able to admit.
