I love culture and expression, and UTA gives that to me. If you like that sort of environment, then this is probably the place for you; we're the third most diverse campus in the nation, and we boast over 70 different languages. Also, if you value being with your friends and just having a good time over huge parties and lots of distractions, then you should be here. UTA is the most desirable social hub I've ever encountered, and they protect it with a heavy student leader base and a top notch police department. Lastly, if you live in the DFW area, then go ahead and come here. We're a huge commuter school and tuition isn't bad at all, so if you don't mind staying at home, you'll get a great education at a great price.

Diversity. Diversity is the number one reason why high school students should apply to UTA. Here, you actually get the full real world experience and you're able to step out of your comfort zone on numerous occasions. The second reason why someone should attend UTA, is the sense of acceptance here. Because we are so diverse, students here at UTA, are open minded and well rounded individuals. The last reason why attending UTA would be great is because, since we are a smaller university, there is a sense of family and unity here. You get to have a close relationship with not only your professors but the peers too.

people should attend the university of texas at arlington if they live in the area, if they wanna learn them a thing, and if they want to go to a nice university

Anonymous, Student, The University of Texas at Arlington, Class of 2019

  • Acceptance.
  • Work.
  • Self worth.

These three reasons are all tied together. The people I met at my orientation were just as excited, if not more, as I was to have the chance to meet new people and create lasting ties with possible new friends. Acceptance into a new community allows for more involvement, and UTA is never short of things for a new student to do, whether it be involvement in clubs and student associations or just going to an event being hosted by one of these clubs, their self-immersion into campus activities never stops. This is when the true test of self-discovery begins, and as they begin their journey to discover their true likes and dislikes and create their own path to their future, they will learn their strengths and weaknesses and grow from these experiences. This ultimately leads them to a greater sense of self-confidence and strengthens their sense of ambition to become influential individuals in our ever-changing world. Although this thought process has been stripped down of any complications, the out-come of any individual's UTA experience will be the same: a growth for appreciation of self, of knowledge, and of the future.

Anonymous, Student, The University of Texas at Arlington, Class of 2016

Primarily, the first reason would be that it is a school with a wide variety and diversity - and not just in its students' cultural diversity. There are residential students just out of high school, international students, commuter students, transfer students, and adults returning to college for continuing education/career change. The diversity in every classroom allows each student to interact with a wide variety of classmates that can bring different perspectives and experiences to the classroom. Secondly, for me, the affordability was key, especially for in-state students. Lastly, though this may be in the Sciences section, it seems that the structure of the program was set up for students from different educational backgrounds to succeed. The teachers have office hours, there are established tutors and tutorial rooms/classes, there are extra study groups led by a senior student for an entire section, and there are online tools for each course. It seems very involved and helpful as students are trying to get adjusted and do well in school.
