The first reason I picked Illinois State was because of the great program for my major. Although, my major doesn't apply for everyone, our overall academic status is very good. So far, I think I've had some of the best professors I could ever imagine. They really take the time and focus on that small class setting than just passing you through. I've been tested on my abilities and not just given an easy grade and that's what I like. I feel like I'm learning. Secondly, if you tell me you can't walk on our campus and not fall in love I would call you a liar. With our Quad in the center of everything, each season provides a new setting for the students. Plus living on campus is such a bonus because everything is no longer than ten minutes away. Being a college student, I try to get all the sleep I can so being able to roll out of bed 15 minutes before class and get there with time to spare is always a bonus. Our campus is close knit and convenient for everyone. Lastly, I took in consideration the area surround our campus. I wanted to not just spend every minute on it and wanted to be able to explore outside of my school life. With Uptown only being a street away, students are open to different restaurants, a drug store, movie theater, post offices, shops, and three different bookstores. Although this is nice, sometimes I want to be able to go to big stores such as Target, Walmart, etc. to pick up stuff I can't get from Uptown. With our tuition, we are provided with a city bus pass which takes you to any of the stores. Its so nice to have when you just need to get something. These are my reasons for choosing ISU, other students may have different ones but these are definitely my top.
