Slippery Rock University is pretty diverse, so it is hard to say what students were like in high school. I would recommend attending Slippery Rock if you are a dedicated, driven student. You will get a lot out of SRU, but only if you put in the work.

A typical student would be hardworking and dedicated through high school. They would also be someone who is well rounded and participated in many activities. But also someone who is leader, that is very important to our college!

Someone who should attend SRU was a motivated, responsible and mature individual in high school. They were goal-driven, did not give up on their dreams and had lots of friends and family that supported them all of the way into college. This person would have gotten on the honor roll numerous times, was a member of the National Honor Society, took AP classes, studied hard and was involved in sports and/or service opportunities in school and the community.

A decent student, not necessarily a 4.0 GPA student, however, a relatively smart individual. Usually, but not always, played a sport or was on a team or in a group on high school. A friendly person, who is easy to get along with. Just a nice person overall.

In high school, a typical Slippery Rock student was semi-shy and kept to themselves. They were maybe nervous or anxious and were not very adventurous. Slippery Rock University is a great choice for people like that because it is a small campus where you quickly begin to make friends and become familiar with the different faces roaming around each day. Not only does it provide comfort becoming familiar with the people you share a campus with, but it provides a sense of comfort being close enough to home to get away when you need to, but far enough to where you are still independent!

In my opinion, a typical student was a very fun, outgoing yet mannered person. Also, we succeed in academics therefore they took there grades extremely serious in high school. We are very eager to meet new people and make new lifelong friends here.
