A Parkdale Student
The type of student who should attend Parkdale High School is one that wants to be challenged and is morally diverse. At Parkdale we have a very eclectic student body. Everyday I am being challenged by my peers on everyday concepts. At Parkdale we applaud students who are willing to surpass the maximum and achieve " greatness and nothing less," ( one of our schools mottos ). We have programs for every type of student , such as the IB program, which encourages students to broaden their horizons, and push themselves like they haven't before. The JROTC program teaches discipline , structure, and foundation for those who want to enter the military. Many of our other programs include Global Studies department, and the Pro-Start Cooking courses. Parkdale is for those who want to make the unbelievable, believable. Everyday I wake up saying to myself how am I going to be challenged today, not what am I going to learn today. This is exactly what a panther does. We take the information we learn and put that into our daily lives, either through service, leadership or anything else of that nature. The question here shouldn't be what type of student should attend Parkdale High School, but what type of student is ready to take on Parkdale High School. As MLK once said "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education," something we know all to well at Parkdale.
