They would be getting a top notch education in an area very close to the city. The professors are very helpful and engaging with the students so they are able to thrive. Being able to finish and hold that degree is a dream to me and would be for prospective students!

The top three reasons you should attend St. John's University are: 1) The campus is gorgeous. St. John's students take a lot of pride in the Great Lawn and the clean, modern buildings. Also, we have an amazing 9/11 memorial between St. Vincent's Hall and St. Albert's Hall that has a perfect view of Manhattan, despite the fact that we're in Queens. It's my personal favorite spot on the whole campus. 2) The small class sizes. Unless you are in a lecture class or a lab, SJU has a fairly small student:professor ratio, typically closer to 15:1. I'm also in the Honors program, which lowers my core class sizes even more, usually to 10:1. Even though we are one of the largest Catholic universities in America, we keep our classes small and personal, so that the professors can develop a relationship with the students that they wouldn't achieve in a larger classroom. 3) Everyone feels like family here. I know it sounds cliche, but the second I stepped on campus for my campus visit, St. John's jumped from one of the last schools on my list to number one. It just feels like home. Everyone is so nice, and they'll give you help if you need it; most of the time, you don't even need to ask for it, so long as you appear lost or confused. I made so many friends just in my first few days on campus, and I'm not even that outgoing. I didn't join any clubs my freshman year, which I regret, but I still managed to meet what feels like half the campus in 8 months. Just make your way around instead of hiding in your room during your free time, and you'll meet so many people that want to be your friend that it can sometimes be almost overwhelming. But they just want to make you feel welcome, and they succeed. St. John's becomes an easy home away from home.
