If a student wants to walk on to try out for football, does that student to be registered for FAU? Is there a fee for registering? Do you get it back if he doesn't get picked up or the school doesn't accept him as a student?

Yes, you do need to be a registered student in order to walk-on to the football squad. Walk-on tryouts are typically the second or third week of August. I encourage you to e-mail Brooke Wilson who is the office coordinator for FAU's football team. She should have the specific date. While there is no walk-on fee, there is a $30 non-refundable application fee.
