As a non-traditional transfer student my experiences at the school has been different than most but some of the activities that I have enjoyed is every week the school holds a version of a farmers market in the Campus Center. Which demonstrates how students support their local community and businesses. There are also different exercise classes held at gym that are appealing to both sexes, this is a stress reliever as well as an enjoyable activity. As the year approaches summer there are free sailing lessons available to the students as well as paddle boarding and canoeing.

There are always events going on at the start of the year, like the Chancellor's Barbecue and "Movie Night Under the Stars", where a big screen is set up outside in front of the main building and a popular movie is played for people to view. There's also a bus that picks up right in front of the campus and can take students straight into the city of Boston, where they can go to restaurants or to the movies, or even go to a game at Fenway. Every Monday, in the waterfront just in front of the school, there's also a ferry that tours the entire harbor, and it's free for students at UMass Boston. If you don't have time to go on the ferry, you can also just walk along the walkway that wraps around the waterfront - it's also a great place to go for a jog or a bike ride.
