Going to school in Reno can be a very interesting experience if you know where the fun is. The most popular thing students do for fun, is drive up to Lake Tahoe and enjoy a day in the crystal blue water. Activities at the lake include water skiing, swimming, and beach volleyball. The second thing students may do for fun is go downtown, there are many local restaurants as well as movie theatres and rock climbing. And lastly, if you are enrolled during the winter, a student may head up to the Mt. Rose Ski Resort and enjoy skiing and snowboarding.

The top three things that students at UNR do for fun are go to the Knowledge center because there are tons of things to do there, like rent movies, cameras, etc. Another thing we like to do is go to the Joe Crowley Student Union because every Thursday and Friday they show a movie in the movie theater or on the lawn. Lastly, UNR has days when they bring in dogs for all the students to pet and help de-stress them from finals or other activities.

The biggest event I attend while being here so far is the football games. At first all I knew is The University of Nevada, Reno is the wolf pack and there slogan was always go pack. This was so boring to me until I understood the full meaning of ‘being a part of the pack’. Football and all sporting events are are fun, but students also like to create new clubs. I am currently in craft club and nerf club. We also love to grab food especially if it is sushi!

Going out with friends and participating in interesting and fun school activities. Outside of school their is an abundance of night life from gambling and drinking to clubbing and dancing. The most fun that people at UNR have however is studying and working on projects for classes.

We enjoy watching football games and tailgating in the parking lot before the games. Home of Collin Kaepernick! Twice a week we work out and get our cardio by running the stairs at the Lawlor Event Center which is over 1600 stairs *Enjoy eating some amazing food in the Joe!

One of the things that UNR hosts for students is the fun activities during the first week of school. For example, students who work on campus put on barbecues and even bring out bounce houses for students to enjoy while under the initial stress of school starting. Another activity is my personal favorite and happens during finals week of the fall semester. The library stays open late, fresh hot chocolate and cookies are given to all of the students which are found studying. If a student gets tired of studying, he or she can go watch a movie that is being played that week in the student union building (all movies being pretty new, which is great). During this week, it is also common to find yourself covered with a blanked if you have fallen asleep in your books. The last but not least activity is the concerts which are put on by the university. This happens in the spring semester, and the university will hire a big name group, like Deadmau5 for example, to come and play on campus. The campus is lit up in the evening, and it is a great place to get all of your classmates together in a musical environment. The tickets are significantly cheaper, too!

The ASUN on campus is very active and provides many events, which are free most of the time, to the students of UNR. One of the events they arrange yearly is Welcome Week which is held on the first week of class. Free food is given out to students, various information about different clubs and organizations are distributed, and plenty of free activities are put together. This year, a concert is being held at the end of the week and popular music artists will be performing. Another huge thing that students enjoy here are the sporting events. Football games are flooded with school spirit and over all excitement. The atmosphere is astronomically insane and everyone in the stadium is pumped for the Nevada Wolfpack to pound the visiting teams.

Most students at UNR enjoy going to the usual school events, such as football or other sports games, pep rallies, movie nights, concerts and more that are put on by our student union group. They also enjoy joining clubs, especially since UNR has over 200 clubs and organizations for students to join and be a part of! I am the president of the Wolfpack Running Club, and it is always so much fun to meet new people and to enjoy working out together! The last thing students at UNR do for fun is explore all that the Reno-Tahoe area has to offer. There are the Sierra Mountains for hiking, snowboarding, and mountain biking. There is the desert that is home to fascinating sights such as petroglyphs, old artifacts and wildlife. There is also of course the Truckee River that is beautiful year round and perfect for swimming, rafting and more. Students at UNR never run out of fun things to do!

I personally have fun at the University attending or participating in theatre productions, getting involved in the club- or greek-run activities that occur on campus, and I like going to university-sanctioned events, like when Laverne Cox gave a conference on campus, or art gallery showings, or rallies in the quad in protest of rape culture. This may not be the standard list of fun activities for all students at my university, but I can only speak for myself.

Provided by the University, students can enjoy weekly movies put on in front of the student union. Bringing a chair or blanket is all that is needed to enjoy a night of free popcorn, drinks, and a movie with friends.

Being a part of the Associated Students of the University of Nevada, I am always excited to hear of new happenings around campus. Whether that be concerts by performers such as Diplo, Macklemore, or Big Sean or informative talks from Orange is the New Black's Laverne Cox regarding the transgender community, students love participating in these very discounted events on campus.

Being located just north of downtown, students have the free range to head down to the riverwalk with friends to enjoy an evening filled with delicious food, bowling, or relaxing in the movie theater.

I can't speak for all of the student here at the University of Nevada- Reno because many may enjoy reading a book near the Manzanita lake or attending the club campus run activities that range from soul night to strolling for tots. I personally find watching the rugby games, attending international club, and just laughing with friends while music plays in the background the most fun. I love rugby and I enjoy seeing the game expand to many more colleges each year. I am not an international students but I have had some of the best conversations with these students who are here in America with a hunger to take in as much as they can with the time they have and all the while struggling to really understand English. It is so fun to see them come out of their shells during our events like karaoke night and experience some of their cultures here in this "biggest little city" of Reno. Hanging out with friends is always fun no matter what school one is at I presume. Studying for a hard core mid term the next day can even be made more fun just being surrounded by the right group of people.

Also called the Truckee creek because it is extremely small and shallow but still loads of fun. We are also in a casino town. Meaning that Reno is a mini Las Vegas. We have a small strip downtown with outlining casinos and restaurants that is fun to frequent at night on weekends to get our minds off studying. Reno also has events like Hot August Nights and Street Vibrations that literally takes over our city for a weekend with food and concerts and shut down streets. Reno is nicknamed the biggest little city, but were also the funnest little city.
