Students that attend the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs are very fortunate because there is always fun to be had. First off, we happen to be located in one of the most scenic cities of Colorado, Colorado Springs, with Pikes Peake as our view. That brings me to the first fun (and free, thank goodness) activity UCCS students enjoy, hiking. Wether you want to take down a 14er, hike Pulpit Rock or even tackle the feared Incline, UCCS students have a large selection of ACTIVE(ities). Colorado Springs is also the largest city in Colorado, which has created many different subcultures to explore. UCCS students can take the short drive to Manitou Springs and literally enter into a completely different environment. Manitou Springs is a small town filled with ma and pa stores ranging from apothecaries to novelty candy shops. Lined up and down with tourists, tarot card readers, and hipsters on every corner (brave and adventurous) UCCS students are able to enjoy a new culture from the comfort of their backyards. The third, and not final, fun-tivity UCCS students enjoy is the Air Force Academy air shows that happen seasonly all from the view of almost every building located on campus. The air force Academy is only two exits north of campus, and with it brings many activities for our UCCS students. Wether you are visiting the Air Force chapel, the number 3 wedding destination for the Western half of America, attending an air force hockey game or watching the Thunder Birds when they make an appearance, students are spoiled with its close proximity. There is many more fun adventures in Colorado Springs, and UCCS students take full advantage of our awesome surroundings.
