You should attend Randolph Macon if you want a "home feel" type of campus. The campus is small but it has a nice relaxing feeling about it. The campus is also next to a train station which is convenient if you don't drive but need to go out of town.

First would be size, because R-MC is fairly small--only about 1,400 undergrads. Second, I'd say opportunities; because the student body is on the small side, we get more opportunities than we would at a larger college. Third, I'd say the financial aid; although the college is private and thus has high tuition, the scholarships offered often make it easier for students to attend R-MC over a bigger school, like say, UVA.

The top 3 reasons someone should attend Randolph-Macon are the connections, small college learning experience, and people. Throughout your years here at R-MC, you will constantly be presented with opportunities to connect with people who can help you get to you goals. To have constant access to lines of assistance is of great value. The learning experience of being in a small classroom is one that pushes you. The small class sizes allow professors to really individualize the class experience, allowing you to get more out of it. This is a huge advantage when it comes to the constant challenging of students to push themselves through research, presentations, and writing. All skill you take with you to the real world. The people of R-MC are another reasons to attend. No matter who you are, there are people here that will understand you and accept you for you. Everyone fits in and matters on this campus and that's important.
