Student, South Pasadena Senior High School, Class of 2016,
Three extracurricular activities at south Pasadena senior High school that are the most popular are track and field, cross country and volunteering in the trainers room after school. I would recommend any student to partake in any of those two sports, as south Pasadena senior high school have a great amount of recognition in those sports, having great athletes who have even made it to CIF various times. At SPHS there are a lot of good athletes at SPHS, however what sets these two sports apart from the others is that anyone can start running and see results quickly and immensely, training with the team on off season and during summer. I did this my freshmen year, before trying out for the track and field team and I made it on the team. The coach expressed to me that he had seen more progress in me, than any of the others who had trained with during off season. I recommend volunteering in the trainers room after school as well, because you learn a lot about injuries, and how to treat them. In the trainers room, the trainer teaches you how to identify certain injuries, and how to respond with first aid. He also teaches you how to wrap, and tape injuries such as shin splits. This will also be very helpful, if you want to get into sports medicine or want to become an orthopedic doctor.
