You should be a really hard worker and tend to be a leader, whether in group projects, a sports team, or in general. You have to learn how to study on your own and not just rely on the teacher to explain everything. You also need to be independent, friendly, and giving. You should also be able to time manage and have fun while still keeping up with school work. Overall, being a well-rounded person makes you a great student in the University of North Texas. There are amazing programs for almost any concentration in the school, and for those who don't want a large school environment, there are many opportunities to take classes with smaller numbers. For a big school, we give off a small school feel with our tight community. I would only say that someone coming to the university has to be ready to put themselves out there and be friendly.

If someone were contemplating going to UNT or somewhere else I would tell them that this is most likely the right place for them. First off, the school spirt that the UNT community has is incredible. Thousands of individuals pile into the football stadium each game to cheer on our men in green. The second reason someone should attend UNT is for its amazing faculty and staff. All the professors are there to help you succeed in whatever path you decide to take. And the third reason to attend UNT is for its amazing music program. UNT has a great selection of majors, with tons of opportunity to develop academically and professionally. There are many companies and institutions that work alongside the school to support student success. It is a large campus, so there will be competition. If you want to be successful, you have to work hard and fight for the opportunities. This school has a nicely developed college town community that caters to the students. Many businesses are open late during the semesters and also have special hours during holidays and breaks. Many faculty, staff and officials are also invested in student success here at UNT, and are passionate about their fields.

Foremost, the city of Denton,Tx is a very special place to live; it hosts a very diverse culture, and hosts big events such as the Denton Arts and Jazz festival while retaining a small-town feel. The University of North Texas provides cohort programs for students living out of state. Since these cohort programs are held online, social opportunities are mandated at the beginning of the program, and throughout the semester. This helps to become acquainted with professors and fellow classmates. This cohort opportunity demonstrates that this university cares about people's education and future.

First is the immense pride that surrounds the school and the student faculty. Whenever first coming to UNT, your blood runs green and you feel that you are at home. As soon as I left freshman orientation, I felt as if I was leaving home and not going to it. At all sporting events, at academia, and even outside of class you feel such extreme pride for your school. The University has that weird affect on you and I can only hope it grows stronger through my years of coming here. Second is about the facts of the academics. UNT has some of the most extensive, caring teachers and tutoring facilities I have ever witnessed. We all have our weaknesses and at UNT the weaknesses that we all have are severally strengthened through rigorous professional's helping you practice. Just looking at UNT's academics as a whole, we have some of the greatest departments in the state that continue to grow and strengthen. So since college is basically about academia, UNT is the place to be. The last contributing factor is the great financial help and opportunities that are offered to all students. UNT wants the students to succeed so by putting out a multitude of scholarships and grants, students have their vision set on their grades not their finances. This system takes the focus to what you are here for the schooling, the education, and not the worry of a negative financial downpour.

In the education field alone 80% of the teacher graduates from the University of North Texas are still teaching whereas 78% of students from other universities in Texas have already quit. The second reason that someone should attend the University of North Texas is because of the endless amount of opportunities. At UNT there are over 900 student organizations and clubs. This gives students multiple opportunities to get involved in their community, their school, and in their life. Lastly someone should attend the University of North Texas for the amazing staff. The professors and counselors at the University of North Texas are bound and determined to help their students reach their full potential and get their degree. Not all universities have such dedicated staff to help guide and support their students.

With open doors and windows for student to succed in life, UNT is a place where determination and motivation is the key ingredient to being successful. The eagle flys high and its prey scurries low, as a Mean Green Eagle (MGE) I seek my prey and capitvate it with one swipe. In this analogue, my prey is my career and as a MGE I have been taught and supported by professors and counselors to see what I want and am capable of and take it. I have been taught from my parents and on campus mentors to be independent, but still be open to being taught. Classes are taught my professor with experience and knowledge of what they are doing. I am a Journalism major and Sculpting (art) minor and each one of my professor are and/or where professionals in their field. A lot of my classes are small so I have that interpersonal connection with my professors that are always there it help me. I recommend UNT to anyone who is ready to get a high level education and still have time to buy a corn dog and relax at an close by annual festival.

In a city that never sleeps and a campus full of students with there heads in the books, I recommend UNT because of the education, artist free flow, and support.

Anonymous, Student, University of North Texas, Class of 2020

The campus is gorgeous and not to big but large enough to feel like a real university. UNT is growing as a school and students have the chance to be a part of its upcoming. Last but not least the atmosphere of the University is what you make it. It's up to the student to become part of whatever crowd they desire, there are no overbearing football or greek life people trying to push you in a direction.

The top three reasons why someone would attend UNT, in my opinion would be: (1) the quality and range of academic programs and degrees offered; (2) the flexibility offered at UNT - from: (a) the school's commitment to working with students to the extent that they will create Interdisciplinary degrees for their students based on and tailored to student interest and career goals, to (b) the scheduling of classes throughout the day, in the evening, on the weekends, and online so that it best meets the learning styles and schedules of each of their students, to (c) the flexibility of financing and payment plans so that students can pay for their classes over the semester if they need to so that they can enroll and begin classes in a timely manner because they understand that many students are paying for college themselves out-of-pocket; and (3) the richness of the culture of the community both on-campus and in Denton itself combined with its proximity to all of the available offerings (cultural, commercial, career, other) within the DFW metroplex.

I was in the dark but after her walking me around campus and sinning me up to housing, orientation and some minor requirements she brought me into the light. one should attend the University of North Texas if they want to be proud of their school, but also to enjoy their time as a student with the many programs available to help jump start a career. Finally one should attend this University if they want an education experience that will never fail them in the business world.

Anonymous, Student, University of North Texas, Class of 2017

To echo my previous points, I believe that the University of North Texas offers a very unique environment that promotes being comfortable with who you are. The diverse population at UNT strives at being a leader in equality, and it's easy to see that the students are very proactive in adhering to these goals. Furthermore, UNT focuses on providing an enjoyable and engaging experience where students can learn and get a deeper understanding at where they feel they might belong. Through multiple active programs complemented by real genuine students, anyone looking for answers to their questions will not have a hard time finding someone who would be more than happy to help them with a smiling face. Lastly I feel that UNT and the city of Denton offer many options in terms of trying to wind down. Music festivals, such as 35Denton and UNT's Spring Concert Series, have brought many major acts to the area, and with the recent completion of the new Apogee Stadium, there has been a renewed focus on developing the football program (and athletics in general) into a nationally recognized sports program. To wrap up, the University of North Texas is not what it is without it's students, and at UNT you won't have to look very far to find where you truly belong.

UNT is a great commuter school, so if you are not ready to go too far from home, the commute is reasonable from just about anywhere in the DFW Metro Area. Also, UNT is relatively inexpensive when compared to the private schools that are in the area; so it is easy on your parents financially and affordable if you have to pay for on your own. Lastly, as a Mean Green Eagle, you will have so many opportunities to be involved on campus if you are the one that desires extracurricular activities.

The top three reasons someone should attend UNT are 1. To learn with a diverse group of people. There are many international students attending the university. 2. Although many of the classrooms are large (it is a large university), much of the faculty is approachable and friendly. 3. The location of the University facilitates the comfort of the student. Since it is a small city, housing, transportation, and other facilities are near the university.

First and foremost I believe the top reason someone should attend UNT is to get a education, because that is the main reason we decide to further our education after high school. Secondly I think someone should attend UNT because it is a great accredited school that will give you the tools and resources to further your goals. Last but not least I think someone should attend UNT because it is a great central location, for Texas residents that like to visit back home if they have to.
