Coe has incredible professors; so much so that they become life long friends, mentors and even colleagues. The work at Coe not just for a paycheck but because they genuinely care about students and want to know them at a personal level. Coe also has remarkable support systems for those in all walks and needs in life from free tutoring to counseling to free health care. All of these qualities about Coe boil down to a singular method of view students that is unlike most educational schooling systems; Coe sees students as a whole person, not just a number or dollar sign.

  2. The student body is awesome
  3. Cedar Rapids is a city big enough that there is always something going on, but not big enough that you feel too small/ can get lost

It is a small, liberal arts college that provides bigger, worldly options, as well as a sense of home and community.

The top three reasons that someone should attend Coe College is the welcoming atmosphere. Most of the staff here at Coe is willing to get to know their students personally and it's really special when you can call a professor by their first name. They become great friends with their students and will do anything to help them achieve their academic goals. Another reason someone should attend Coe is that there are a lot of scholarships available to help pay for tuition. The third reason for attending Coe is the liberal arts education. A liberal arts school is a great way to explore different fields of study while still staying on track to graduate. Also there are many great opportunities to get involved on campus and in the surrounding community.

First, the professors. Professors treat you like a peer, not an inferior, and are genuinely interested in helping you reach your goals in any way possible. Secondly, the students and other staff. People at Coe are open and friendly. Being such a small school really brings the campus together. Resources are available to you almost 24/7 if you need to talk or are looking for new ways to meet people. Thirdly, the opportunities after Coe. OVer 90 percent of Coe's grads are employed or in grad school within a year after graduation, and during your time at Coe there are numerous possibilities for jobs and internships both on campus and in the area in your field of interest. Coe makes you a strong candidate for any job market.

If you're looking for a campus where you're more than a number, Coe is for you. The professors genuinely care and will contact you if you're suddenly missing in class. The administration works hard to make sure students' voices are heard and that they are approachable with any concerns or questions. If you want to study multiple fields that maybe don't have a direct connections, Coe is for you. Some students major in one area, but the majority double majors and even some ambitious types tackle triple or quadruple majors. Coe will work with you to make sure that you can study everything you want in order to achieve your ultimate goals in a timely fashion. I've known Physics and Arts double majors, a Pre-Med, Philosophy, and Theatre triple major, and one student even created her own major in Classical Greek Studies. If you want a tight-knit, accepting community, Coe is for you. There are active multicultural, LGBT+, and faith-based organizations on campus that not only meet regularly, but offer activities and events throughout the year to the whole college. The small size of the school combined with the open-mindedness of the student body and faculty creates this little pocket of acceptance in the middle of the Midwest where you're free to explore your identity and develop relationships that will support you wherever life may lead you.
