Student, Fox Chapel Area High School, Class of 2017,
A student who is prejudiced, apathetic, and unsuited to handle pressures would not be well equip to attend Fox Chapel Area High School. The school has a stereotype of rich, arrogant kids who lead perfect lives by attending the best parties while getting the best grades. If a student enters Fox Chapel with such a mentality, he or she will find that other peers who do not appreciate the stereotype will not be well taken by other students. The faculty, on the other hand, does not take well to students who lack effort to abide by the school’s policies and put in effort into schoolwork. An additional stigma that accompanies the school district is some of the pressure to live up to the stereotypes that have been projected. Students face the pressures to be the smartest student in class, to excel the most on the court or in the field, to dress in certain brands of clothing, and to fit into specific social groups. If one cannot either ignore or embrace the pressures existing in Fox Chapel, the student would have a long and hard struggle in the school.
