One of the best characteristics of Rutgers University- Newark is its diversity. There is no such thing as a "typical" Rutgers student because each one is unique in their own way. I go to school with brilliant individuals that graduated high school with 4.0 GPAs who aspire to be doctors. There are also students that were not the best students in high school, but are attempting to transgress all bounds and be the first in their household to graduate college. At Rutgers Newark there is a mix of everyone, which makes the campus very diverse.

I am not sure what a typical Rutgers, Newark student was like in high school since there is a such a large variety of people that attend school there. I believe the word typical does not even apply to Rutgers, Newark. The one quality that someone who attends Rutgers, Newark should have is be open to diversity and have an open mind in general.
