At Avon High School, there are a variety of extracurricular activities students can get involved in. However, if I had to choose which three activities are among the most popular, I would have to say football, basketball, and band. These activities typically attract a large number and a wide variety of students each year as a lot of success is reached in these activities. If I had to recommend extracurricular activities for students, I would recommend soccer and key club. As a member of the girls soccer team for the past four years, I have a great passion for the sport and this activity specifically. Through Avon's soccer team, I met some of my best friends and made countless memories that I will cherish forever. Without the soccer team, I would not be the person I am today. I am so grateful to have been a part of this activity. Key club is another activity I am involved in that I would recommend other students join. Key club is an organization that allows students to volunteer and give back to the community. I think this is a great club as it provides many rewarding experiences and allows students to get involved.

Avon has a very strong performing arts program that attracts a lot of attention from around the country, and even around the world. The Avon Marching Black and Gold marching band is the most famous of the music programs and a major source of recognition for our school. We have won 3 national titles, 12 state titles, and many more regional and class awards. Being a four-year participant of this group, I would recommend it to anyone. Avon's marching band teaches invaluable lessons in maturity, commitment, and work-ethics.
Secondly, our school is very devoted to community involvement. Each year, the junior class takes to the streets of the Indianapolis area to serve a community that is constantly supporting us. While the juniors, clean, deliver meals to those in need, or provide a positive character, the other classes engage in team building and future planning activities in order to build the school into its own small community. This day is very memorable and I would love for anybody to take part in a day like this.
Lastly, our school places a strong emphasis on accelerated learning. A large amount of AP and honors classes are offered each year and they are taught very effectively. Avon students typically score higher than the national average on AP tests which speaks for our educational credibility. The school doesn't stop here. All kinds of opportunities are offered to culture academic growth in those ready to take on true challenges. Avon's academic achievement, in my opinion, sets the standard of excellence and should be the type of experience all devoted students should have access to.

Due to transportation issue, I never have a chance to participate in any extracurricular activities, and, therefore, I do not pay attention to any of them. However, I believe that DECA, Multicultural club, and Science Olympiad club are the most popular activities at Avon high school, and they are the ones that I would recommend.

The 3 extracurricular activities at AHS that are most popular are DECA, football, and Student Government. I would recommend Student Government, Eco Club (the club I am the president of- we recycle at the school and go around our community, cleaning it and making it more eco-friendly), and Tennis. I am also a Varsity tennis player. We are ranked 12th in the state, and it's a lot of fun!
