Student, Blue Valley Northwest High School, Class of 2016
,Any student who wants to get an exceptional education and feel like they're part of a larger family should consider attending BVNW. I actually attended another high school within our school district my Freshman-Junior year and asked to transfer to this school my senior year. I felt like I was missing out on the high school experience my family talked about all through elementary and middle school years. I wanted to experience the school spirit, football games, basketball rallies, etc - more than just focusing on academics. Even though I only knew 3 other seniors at this new high school, I am grateful for my family supporting this decision and I couldn't be happier. My only regret is that I didn't ask to transfer sooner.
Yes, BVNW is known for their academic accomplishments (such as 5 students who scored a perfect ACT this year and 2 of them also scored a perfect SAT), but that's not the primary focus. They encourage every student to get involved and join at least 1 club. They have everything you can imagine (from traditional sports to academic study groups to silly/fun clubs such as the hammock or ping pong club) - there's literally something for EVERYONE! The administration talks about the Husky FAMILY and that's exactly what it feels like.
It's for all of the above reasons and such much more, that I believe any student that has the opportunity should attend this high school and make the most of these 4 years.
