Ask any TarHeel, UNC Basketball is where it's at! We have the best team and beating Duke is what we're here for. We might also travel up the road to Durham to watch the Bulls play baseball while we enjoy hotdogs and beers. But, if sports isn't your thing, there's always good food and drink at Top of the Hill on Franklin Street.

It's hard to pick just three things that people do for fun at UNC. There is so much to do, but getting involved in something you are passionate about is usually a top priority for students. UNC also has a lot of sports fans, and there is always a team needing support so attending games is another fun thing to do. Also, with UNC being in a college town, Franklin Street has loads of fun dining, shopping, and entertainment options. It's difficult to be bored on UNC's campus.

For students who desire a world class education combined with ample opportunities for entertainment, UNC is a dream school. My top three ways of having fun with friends are listed below. 1. Attending sporting events. Who doesn't love a good old-fashion rivalry? (Beat Dook!) 2. Exploring Franklin Street. Are you open to seeing performances from local bands? Eating Mexican food at 3 o'clock in the morning? Partying on Halloween? UNC is right for you! 3. Chilling with friends in your own dorm room. The best nights are formed with a delivery pizza, a movie on Netflix, and a card game to get to know each other!

When the semester first starts there is Fall Fest, which is where all of the clubs set up booths and give out a lot of free stuff. Also a great place to meet new people and learn about new clubs. As the semester starts and students get back into school mode there's Halloween on Franklin Street. The close off the street and there's a huge crowd of people dressed up for Halloween. The next semester there's the ACC tournaments, and if we beat Duke the crowd rushed to Franklin, and it's always a good time.

At UNC, students typically go to Franklin Street for a night of fun. Franklin Street is the edge of north campus and is where all of our shops, restaurants, and bars are located, so it is a very popular night and weekend spot for students. In addition, the town neighbor to Chapel Hill, Carborro, is very fun and always hosting local markets, festivals, and concerts. And, of course, one of the main things UNC students do for fun is watch Tar Heel sports, especially basketball. Nothing beats spending time with friends and cheering on your fellow Heels!

1) The best overall thing to do at UNC-CH is to participate in extra-curricular activities. Whether those are joining clubs, religious programs, playing sports and doing intramural activities, UNC-CH is full of fun activities that allow people to not only enjoy themselves, but grow as individuals as well. 2) UNC-CH has been blessed with one of the top athletic programs in all of the nation. One of the best things to do on campus is to come together with fellow Tar Heels and support as well as celebrate one of our many spectacular sports teams. 3) Lastly on this list, but certainly not least important is our academics. UNC-CH is a prestigious university that takes pride in academic rigor. That being said, we students that attend this great university also have that same pride in learning and growing, after all that is why we attend UNC-CH. School work may not be the most not always be considered fun, but there is no greater feeling than working hard and achieving something, I would call that fun in my book.

Most students have very active social lives between their friends, clubs and the classes they are enrolled in. So when they do manage to get away and have some free time to go have fun, a lot of students will go to sports games or explore Chapel Hill and our neighboring town Carborro. Some students also enjoy going and sitting on the quad or playing intramural sports on Fetzer Fields.

Students like to take advantage of the beautiful North Carolina weather by studying outside. We also have a lot of school pride for our Tarheels and attend many of our sporting events. There is also a lot of boutiques and eateries down the scenic Franklin street right beside campus connecting many students to the town's local spots.

  2. On the weekends, we all go to Franklin Street, which is right outside of the campus. Here we can visit many different restaurants and find plenty of unique stores.
  3. Basketball Games. I doubt there's a Tar Heel in existence that hasn't been to a basketball game. It's our favorite past time and a huge joining factor between us all.

Most of the students at UNC enjoy "pit sitting" which is the act of socializing at a central part of campus known as The Pit. We also love to watch UNC beat Duke in a basketball game so that all the students can "rush Franklin" which means we all run from wherever we are to Franklin Street aka Main Street. Lastly, the students at the first public university in the country love to sing Hark The Sound, as we are in deed TarHeel born, TarHeel bred, and when we die we shall be TarHeel dead.

  1. Anything athletic. The athletics at UNC are fantastic, with pro and club for almost every sport (Ultimate Frisbee? Check. Rowing? Definitely.) In addition, there are two athletic centers that provide free facilities to students for weight training, running, swimming, even rock climbing. Pretty much everyone is involved in something active.
  2. Is coffee an activity? I don't know, but the independent coffee shops on campus are stuffed with students enjoying locally roasted coffee drinks. The most popular one is connected to a bookstore, where everyone has spent some quality time relaxing with a good book.
  3. People seem to be singing all the time. There are 10+ acapella groups that are always trying to one-up each other with stunts and public performances, which is great for everyone who enjoys a little music between classes.
