A student who's passion or area of study is not offered by the university, someone who wants to go for IV league universities, or someone that is looking to just get a quick degree and get out of the university because FIU (Florida International University) is not one of the IV league universities, and if you want to get a degree at FIU, you need to be dedicated and be willing to learn the materials and the information if you want to pass any of the classes.

Someone who should not attend to FIU is someone who doesn't enjoy culture and diversity. Also someone who is close minded and does not want to experience an International environment.

Anyone who leaves all their class work to last minute or who won't take he great experiences given to them seriously, should not attend this school.

Florida International University is typified by diversity and innovation. The slogan for the past four years has been, "Be Worlds Ahead". The opposite of that notion is to be worlds behind. Someone who is close minded and lacks vision should not attend FIU. We pride ourselves in being an international institution. Our students represent various walks of life from Latinos to Haitians, Christians and Muslims. They all co-exist, not allowing their differences to divide them but rather embracing them as valuable to the hope of a more progressive society. In addition to that diversity, students are challenged to be innovative in their unique fields of study. If you come into FIU believing that innovation is reserved for engineering and computer science students, you need to break through those mental boundaries. In both arts and sciences, business and liberal studies, FIU students thrive in creativity and strive to bring new solutions for an evolving market. If a student can't see his or herself assimilating to these ideals, I would encourage them to broaden their horizons. To be successful in FIU and in life after graduation, you must be worlds ahead.

The student who should not attend FIU does not like leaving campus. As far as universities go, FIU is not a very large campus. You can find a lot of amenities on campus, but you will often have to leave for entertainment and food. It is very much a commuter college. If you like never having to leave campus FIU isn't the best choice.

The type of student that should not attend FIU is a student that is not academically motivated, because each and every second that you are on campus there are opportunities to help on the journey to your future. If there are people unwilling to take advantage of these opportunities they do not belong.

If the aim of the game is to keep below radar, and pass through college with a face religiously planted in the books and hold court with a handful of friends from high school, then FIU is not for you. The growling panthers of FIU encompasses what it means to be bold, daring and drives you to be your best you. Timidness will find no solace within the panther nation. It is not enough to be a good student and get on by, just showing up to classes, grabbing lunch and heading back to the dorms or your house. FIU is a home and for a student who cannot grasp this concept, FIU is not the place to be. A home is built around a family, but FIU's family is unlike any other. It comprises of brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, that surely many will look different from you in attitudes and achievements, color and culture, temperament and tenacity. So get accustomed to different, because that is what FIU about, difference and distinction. FIU is on a path building greatness to move from out of the shadows of the legacies of the Ivy leagues and centuries old institutions. To do this it seeks not for the highest GPAs, moreover it hunts for a person willing to build a nation through academics but also engagement. This is the prestige that FIU panthers seek to accomplish and that should be your goal too.

There should not be any reason why a student should not attend Florida International unless they dislike diversity, culture, and the creative city of Miami.
