Brooklyn Technical High School offers many extracurricular activities some of which I couldn't imagine of. However, the three most popular activities among us Technites seem to be PSAL teams (such as Track & Field), National Honors Society (NHS), and Student Government Organization (SGO). Joining a team is a wondrous way of getting your mind off the rigorous schoolwork that challenging schools such as Tech demand and making long lasting connections with other students, which is why I highly recommend joining your favorite sport during high school.

Outdoor track is a popular sport that many students like to participate in. Members practice after school in the indoor tracks or circle around the school blocks. Also, clubs that encourage community service, such as Key Club and Red Cross, are gaining many members in a short period. This is perhaps due to the events that are held which allows the members to have fun and socialize while helping out. Lastly, photography is a popular activity at my school. Many of my friends enjoy taking photos which will also come in handy when the yearbook staff requests photos. Photography is a strong passion for many students, especially because we are an engineering-based school which requires us to be detail oriented and to notice the smaller aspects around us. I recommend joining Brooklyn Tech Key Club because its involvement in the community, in multiple boroughs, resembles how its trying to take part everywhere around us. It tries helping any group that needs help by reaching out to them and asking if they need volunteers for their cause. The club has held many clothing drives and food drives around the school year so as many people as possible can gain access to these necessities. My time in this club has been very memorable because I've attended so many unique events that I never thought I would be able to be a part of, such as the Color Run. Additionally, I had opportunities to connect with Key Club of other high schools such as Midwood, Stuyvesant and Forest Hills.

The HOPE club, which is a volunteering club is very popular. The Oragami Club is very popular and any sports team is popular. I recommend joining the Ultimate Arts and Crafts Club because there are many fun projects to do.

Key Club, National Honor Society, and the Wrestling Team are the most popular extracurricular activities. Instead of being a part of those, I invest my time in some less popular activities. I'm on the girl's Tennis Team, which I highly recommend for anyone dedicated enough to tennis to attend practice every day in the Spring. I also enjoy Music Club; I've made a lot of good friends there and I even learned a few simple chords on guitar from some of the senior members. Big Sibs is a good club for freshman to make friends and to better their time management skills, as its purpose is to help new students acclimate to the school.
