The school gives good financial aid and the resources are very available. The school also has something that no other schools have. They provide great clinical sites for hands on practice. They also have simulation labs to practice techniques on dummies that can act out anything, even childbirth.

1) The curriculum’s well-rounded and diverse learning structure is another reason why I chose to attend Samuel Merritt University. The program embodies culture and diversity in every possible aspect; there is diversity among the faculty, students, patient population during rotations and within the curriculum. 2) The program has established clinical affiliations which ensure that I can train at top notch rotation sites in the Bay Area. 3) For a relatively new Physician Assistant program in California, SMU has one of the highest PANCE rates and low attrition rates which reflects the program's effectiveness in training students to become respectable, compassionate and competent PAs.

If a student is a hard worker and wants to participate in a very well known university in California, they should attend SMU. The weather here in the East Bay is phenomenal, and I've never met a better group of professors willing to give you their time and knowledge!

Someone should actually not attend Samuel Merritt University. It's expensive ($1215 per unit for the program I am in!) The faculty aren't very extraordinary either. In fact, they don't do a good job at all with helping us learn.

Samuel Merritt University provides small class sizes. This gives the students a chance to really get to know each other and become a family. Faculty to staff ratio is small so the professors area always available to help students. Samuel Merritt also has a very diverse student makeup, and great clinical rotation opportunities.
