Which 3 extracurricular activities at Mountain View High School are most popular? Which extracurriculars would you recommend?

The athletic programs, the band program, and the sports medicine program are the most popular extracurricular activities at my school. The athletic programs are intense but they teach valuable life skills such as leadership and teamwork. The coaches will push you to your limits but when it's game time they're in your corner and cheering you on. Teammates will always back you up, wrong or not. Win or lose you're one unit and at the end of the day that's what really matters. The band program is my favorite! The band is like one giant family and we travel to all our school's football games to support the team. It teaches the values of being on time, leadership, and teamwork. If you go down, the whole band goes down too. Hopping off the field in the middle of a halftime performance is not an option. Band may not be considered a sport but it's all about discipline and pride. I'm not a part of the sports medicine program but I've heard great things about their work. Sports medicine is a course offered at our school, but there are trainers that stay after school daily and attend athletic events to tend to the athletes. If anyone ever needs anything taped, the trainers are on it. I'd recommend all of these programs to everyone.

At my school, much emphasis is put onto giving back to the community in whatever ways you can. For that reason, our school's most popular extracurricular is National Honors Society. Being a leader in this club means that I do volunteer work on a weekly basis, as well as demonstrate to others how giving back can and will enhance their lives. Whether it's tutoring students struggling in their classes, doing yard work at elementary schools, or visiting nursing homes and playing music for its residents, I try and create activities that will appeal to my classmates and also help as many people as possible. Secondly, music is an important aspect of our school. Band plays at our football games, orchestra and dance line at our pep assemblies, and choir during our musicals. All of these groups are quite popular, as learning to play music in any form is a skill that helps in so many other areas. By planning and coordinating music events at my school, such as "Open Mic Thursdays", Arts Appreciation Week, and classes for those wanting to learn an instrument, I try and make sure that our students can experience the wondrous world of music that I experience daily. Finally, one of the most popular extracurricular activities at my school would be our sports program. Unfortunately, a hearing impairment disqualifies me from participating in any contact sports, but nonetheless I help in as many ways as possible. From handing out water to our screaming fans during home games to timing swimmers at their meets, I ensure that sports is something everyone will want to experience. Out of all three of these organizations, I recommend our National Honors Society. Being able to give back to society is something that will never be forgotten, and doing this allows anyone to experience the great feeling of knowing you make a difference.
