Anonymous, Student, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, Class of 2019

One: UNLV is cheap. College is important, but the amount of debt that students have been racking up is ridiculous. The college, especially the honors college, prepares the students as well as any college out there; not to mention that it is the effort put in that matters, not the amount of money.

Two: Name recognition. When going for a job interview, it is important that the interviewer is familiar with the interviewee. Yes, it is impressive when one hears Yale, Columbia, or Standford, but being able to come up with something such as UNLV or the University of Oregon is also helpful. In addition to that, the interviewer will know that this is an accredited university.

Three: With it's top programs like Hospitality and Nursing, a person knows he or she is getting one of the best. I am going for Nursing and it is one of the reasons why I choose UNLV as the college I wanted to attend. The professors are animated, the teaching is thorough, and the quality of education is superb.

When I first decided to apply at UNLV, I did so based on the advice of a long time friend named Isiah who was a current student at the time. He alerted me to UNLV's flexible class schedules, the surprising amount of care that professors put into the education of their students, and lastly, the financial advantages offered at UNLV including on campus employment and frequent scholarship opportunities. I can safely say that Isiah's recommendations didn't go unnoticed within my mind and I can safely say that it's these aspects that have made me a proud UNLV student. Classes are offered so numerously that they can easily be worked around your schedule, professors have frequently sat me down during office hours and gone to great lengths to assist me in matters that were unclear, and finally, I have been delighted to witness the scholarship opportunities open to me at UNLV. Along with federal grants, tuition rates have been brought down to a level that no longer burdens my single mother with tremendous financial loads.

It's a great college. The school tries to get the students involved in fun activities. The school also tries to get the students to support our sports teams by letting us in for free. There is career fairs to help us get jobs and they talk about scholarships a lor to help students with money problems.

The library is amazing. It is five stories. Each floor has computers for the students to use. The faculty, including the advisers are incredibly helpful. They care for their students and want them to succeed. There is so much to do on campus from the library to the gym.

Having been a transfer student, I can honestly say that the University of Nevada Las Vegas feels like home. From my very first day of orientation, all of the staff members have been nothing but supportive and encouraging, and the students are the same way. The quality of the education I have received thus far at UNLV has been nothing short of the highest, and when I graduate I know I will be well prepared to find my place in our community. 1. The amazing staff. 2. The supportive students. 3. Quality of instruction.
