Admission to West Florida High School of Advanced Technology is determined by lottery. To be eligible for the lottery, eighth grade students must meet the following requirements:

  • Complete all core academic subjects with an average grade of at least 70 in each subject for the first nine-weeks grading period of their eighth grade year.
  • Be able to achieve a regular high school diploma.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance (not to exceed 8 unexcused absences per semester).
  • Have no serious discipline infractions and no history of repeated infractions during grades seven and eight.

For the upcoming 2015–2016 school year, the application window was from November 3, 2014 – December 19, 2014. The first round of lottery selections was made in January 2015.
