It is a small school where it is easy to get to know people and know the teachers, there is plenty of one on one time with faculty for help if it is needed and they are always eager to help, and it is a great place to make the transition from high school to college.

The first reason concerns money. Pellissippi is more affordable than most four year universities. There are scholarships set up just for local community colleges in Tennessee that will pay for most of the students' tuition. The second reason is because Pellissippi is filled with your "average joes". The people understand that there are a lot of second time around students and people who can't easily afford college. People don't spend a lot of time judging each other. The third reason is that the teachers are really great. They understand that some students haven't been in school for several years. They understand that you have others classes and probably working your butt off outside of school to pay for your classes. They also treat you more like an adult at the same time. The teachers are able to more freely discuss topics and express themselves. They are very willing to work with you.
