There is no one type of person that should or does attend UMass Dartmouth, this is a very diverse campus in respects to personality.

I don't necessarily think there is a specific type of person that should attend UMass Dartmouth. One thing I love about UMD is that the student body is very diverse and it gives you, as a student, the opportunity to meet and make friends who come from very different backgrounds.

Students who struggle financially or who have average/above average grades and are willing to put in the effort to succeed should attend UMass Dartmouth.

A typical UMass Dartmouth student in high school isn't the type of individual who can be classified or stereotype as being just one type of individual. The school offers so many different and distinct programs that it's not really too possible to guess what someone may have been interested in doing in high school, since most college students have probably changed their major once or twice by their sophomore year.

A person that attends the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth is not expected to have an incredibly high GPA but they should not come with the mentality that they can slack off and not do homework. Attendance isn't mandatory but it will effect you grades. The person that comes to this University is not expected to be Ivy League smart but they are expected to work hard and participate.

UMass Dartmouth is really a melting pot of different personalities and cultures. So much so that one can't put a definite label on those who attend. One aspect that I've seen throughout all my peers however is a strong sense of helpfulness that creates an even stronger sense of community throughout the campus which is incredibly infectious. In this way, those who attend UMass Dartmouth are those who are willing to help their peers, but those who aren't will quickly adopt this personality.
