If you’re living somewhere that doesn’t have a kitchen, I would defintiely recommend using dining halls to your greatest advantage. However, you could still invest in a microwave or a mini fridge so you can have a few snacks or some easy-to-prepare meals. It would also be good to buy some cups and utensils just in case. Beyond your room and dining halls, become familiar with the city and where you can find inexpensive food. With just a bit of searching and asking around, you can find some favorite eateries and food trucks that won’t break your wallet. Also keep an eye out for New York University programs that offer free food!
