I've met a variety of characters and personalities while attending UConn. I feel like any student would enjoy attending UConn, especially those who are very high spirited and enjoy participating in school events. What amazes me about UConn that I didn't expect, was how proud people are to be a husky. Coming from my high school, the amount of school spirit present was moderate, but UConn just oozes with it. You can feel the energy the student body has and it is only enhanced when the students participate in the events such as Homecoming, the 5K walks, sporting events, and more. I can imagine the typical person that would attend UConn would be a student who was proud wearing there school colors, screaming their school chant, and went beyond the expectations of showing school spirit and participating in their school.

If you appreciate culture, music, art, sports and are serious in your work, come to UCONN. It is a place of school spirit and diversity. Of course if you enjoy partying, there are plenty of ways to do that too!

The beautiful thing about UConn is that there is a place for everyone! There is so much diversity at the school, and everyone seems to be very accepting. There are "jocks," "nerds," social activists, and everything in between. We have over 600 clubs/organizations, so there is seriously something for everyone! I myself am a very strong Christian and have found a large faithful community on campus to be a part of, and lots of options for churches and Christian clubs, despite the fact that a large majority of the student population is not Christian. There are loads of opportunities to be involved in club and intramural sports, to support our varsity teams at games, and also to succeed academically, with lots of opportunities for research and so many options for academic focus. Almost everyone you talk to at school loves being there and all the opportunities you're presented with as a student.

A typical University of Connecticut student is very social and party oriented in high school. The type of person that should attend University of Connecticut is someone who is academically oriented and takes his studies very seriously because academic classes implicitly demand a lot of work. It's not easy to succeed in college.

A typical UCONN student was a good student in high school, most likely in the top 20% of their class, and was very involved in the school and in their community.
