Describe the type of student who should not attend Valdosta State University and explain why.

The type of student who shouldn't come to Valdosta State doesn't exist. I think there is something here for everyone, and if they choose to come to Valdosta State then they should come. If they decide they don't like it, then that's their decision to make. You don't know if you're going to like something unless you try first.

Anybody that is rude and not planning to pursue their career. A shy person isn't always the best to be around you never know what they're thinking.

Anonymous, Student, Valdosta State University, Class of 2017

I don't think a student that is not self motivated should attend Valdosta State University. Of course college is a learning experience but the student should come to college with some independence, social skills and the ability to problem solve. It is very easy to party and skip class because your parents aren't around to monitor you so you have to want to go to class, study, work, etc. I did pretty well my first few semesters but I found myself not studying as much for a few classes that I didn't really care for and tried to catch up at the end of the semester. I passed the classes with a C's but I could have gotten B's. Those C's affected my overall GPA and now I have to work harder to bring my GPA up.
