Parkview Baptist School is a private, Texas State-approved Home School Provider offering home school programs and lesson plans for students of ages 12 to 18 years old in grades 7 to 12. We use the A Beka curriculum for the core academic subjects (Math, English, Science, Social Studies) and use the Morning Glory Press Teen Parenting Series. We direct students and parents to the many community resources available in Houston to supplement their core studies, and, more importantly, to gain experience and self-knowledge. This is a flexible program where students have the opportunity for early graduation or are able to catch up with their proper grade level if behind. Additionally, we provide academic advising while in school and on the options available after graduating. Students are given assignments on a monthly basis in four subjects at a time, all of which are completed at home. Students are required to come to the office for a meeting with a tutor once a month to turn in their assignments and receive the next. During this meeting we administer tests and help students with any difficulties they are having with the material.
Yes because many people would describe it as in the middle of a public school and private school environment.
They have some money, try to be hipster and open minded but aren't, and have either cool backpacks and/or shoes.
Private schools, including parochial and boarding, are funded through tuition and fees. The cost varies from school to school, but most families pay tuition to attend them. Many private schools offer financial aid or discounts, so it's worthwhile to ask about these options.
