Rev. Nick Kozel and his wife Caryn opened the first Good Shepherd School & Day Care in January of 1992 at the 991 Chicago Avenue campus. They opened with eleven students in preschool, and by the fall of 1992 had enough students for a kindergarten class. Our mission at Good Shepherd School is to instruct children in the Christian faith, provide them with a solid academic foundation, and thereby provide a needed service to our community.
Private schools, including parochial and boarding, are funded through tuition and fees. The cost varies from school to school, but most families pay tuition to attend them. Many private schools offer financial aid or discounts, so it's worthwhile to ask about these options.
