American Heritage of South Jordan's Full Profile

American Heritage of South Jordan says

American Heritage of South Jordan is a Christian-based private school that emphasizes core classes and classic literature. Our educational format follows the Jeffersonian method of learning, which aims to create statesmen in all areas of society. Students who become statesmen make "decisions that are rooted in history, based on true principles, and made concerning the long-term impact on society. The result is an uncommon individual, guided by virtue, wisdom, diplomacy and courage." (DeMille, Oliver, A Thomas Jefferson Education, 1st ed., Cedar City, UT: George Wythe College Press, 2000. Each new student is tested for placement in the Saxon Math program--a highly rated curriculum that keeps participants functioning at, or above, grade level. Each student participates in Classic Ed, where they study history and literature on a timeline from the ancients to modern day.Math and science are required throughout a student's tenure at American Heritage. We believe such training will equip them to become competent and competitive in whatever course they choose in life.Foreign language and arts courses are also taken in order to facilitate a well-rounded individual.

Private schools, including parochial and boarding, are funded through tuition and fees. The cost varies from school to school, but most families pay tuition to attend them. Many private schools offer financial aid or discounts, so it's worthwhile to ask about these options.
