For 50 years Bishop Ireton High School has provided students in Northern Virginia with an exceptional Catholic education rooted in the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales. Enlivened by his witness, our students “advance always” in the love of God and one another. St. Francis de Sales taught that knowledge is an eighth sacrament. In that spirit, our rigorous curriculum is focused entirely on preparation for college. Our average SAT scores are among the highest anywhere. Bishop Ireton graduates enjoy a 99% college placement rate and earn millions of dollars in scholarships. Involvement in co-curricular activities like sports and clubs is a hallmark of our school.

In the Catholic tradition and in the spirit of St. Francis De Sales, Bishop Ireton High School is a college preparatory school that promotes spiritual, intellectual, creative, social, and physical development. As a Salesian community of learning and service, Bishop Ireton challenges students to Advance Always in the love of God and man in order to meet and surpass present and future challenges in the 21st century.

Bishop Ireton High School accomplishes its mission by developing within each student the following:
