Noahs Ark Preschool says

Noah's Ark Preschool, Early Kindergarten and Kindergarten is a ministry of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Consistent with the church, we purpose to honor God by providing quality care and facilitating growth in the lives of young children in a loving environment where they can develop spiritually as they grow emotionally, physically, intellectually, and socially and to provide a Christian service to families and children of the community and to support the values of the Christian home.

Curriculum

Owl's Nest: Potty Trained 2's/Young 3's Welcome to the Owl's Nest. Our class is made up of potty trained 2's and young 3's. We will be learning about ourselves and the world around us through Bible stories, art activities, music and movement, beginning language development, and development of listening and social skills. The owls will find structure in the routines of each class day. They will learn more about respect for themselves and others. There is a focus on understanding the concept of sharing, that balance between give and take. The teacher works with the children individually as well as small group.

A typical day for the owls would include outdoor play, circle time, snack time, learning activity and/or art project, story time, and music before lunch. Recess and “quiet time”, afternoon snack and centers make up the balance of the day for those who stay past lunch.

Sea Buddies: Older 3's/Young 4's We provide a safe, loving environment, where each child will be afforded the opportunity to grow in God’s Word. My desire is to develop a healthy spiritual, physical, intellectual and social individual. This goal is accomplished through age appropriate Bible stories, music and early language skills development, physical fitness activities and group activities.

Beehive: Pre-Kindergarten In Pre-kindergarten the children start to master the skills needed to make a successful transition to kindergarten. They work on writing skills, controlled cutting and coloring, hands-on science activities, simple math skills, beginning phonics, as well as, cooperating in both small and large groups. The children will learn to tie their shoes, clean up after themselves, and to be responsible for their own actions.

Students will learn a new letter and sound each week. They will also focus on a color, shape and number. Workbooks are provided to help develop skills in rhyming, one to one correspondence, patterning, beginning sounds and much more. There are an ever changing supply of centers that children can work with during “free choice” time. Because we are a Christian school, every part of each day we are teaching about the love Jesus has for all of us. The children learn to love God and His word. As the children learn to pray daily, they learn the power of prayer.

Monkey Manor, Kindergarten/Pre-K Our kindergarten encourages each child to develop and/or master skills through age-appropriate core standards such as: language skills, letter recognition and phonics, number recognition and basic math concepts, hands-on science. The children will be given the opportunity to participate in gardening, Spanish lessons, nutrition and physical fitness classes, open-ended art activities, and social interaction. Our Bible curriculum will give each child an understanding of the Bible as a picture of God's plan and purpose and an appreciation of God's love and grace.

Noah's Kin, Afterschool Program Our after school program is for ages 6 through 12. We offer tutoring and time to begin and/ or complete homework assignments. Weather permitting, playground activities are encouraged daily. We also offer Spanish lessons 3 afternoons a week. Our program is comprised of students from the neighborhood elementary school, but all are welcome. Transportation is NOT available.
