Sugar Creek Montessori School's Full Profile

Sugar Creek Montessori School says

Sugar Creek Montessori School was founded in January 1994 by its current directress, Mrs. Lalita Trehan. The Montessori approach offers a broad vision of education as an aid to life. Montessori is a personalized approach in which each child, respected as an individual, discovers the joy of learning in a spontaneous way. Our classrooms are well equipped with Montessori materials, and developmentally appropriate educational aids, and provide an environment where children are free to respond to their inner guidance to acquire different concepts and life skills. The children develop independence, orderliness, coordination, concentration and self-discipline through their natural desire to work and learn at their own pace.

The Sugar Creek Montessori School program provides concrete Montessori exercises, which enables children to learn many different concepts at their own pace and level of readiness. The materials and lessons of our classrooms are arranged from simple to complex and concrete to abstract, so that the child may learn by choice of materials. Each piece of the Montessori apparatus is designed to give children a new experience and to develop a specific concept. Subjects include Language, Math, Geography, Science and Social-Studies. Students also participate in Spanish, Computer, Music and Physical Education classes in addition to reading time in our school library.

Private schools, including parochial and boarding, are funded through tuition and fees. The cost varies from school to school, but most families pay tuition to attend them. Many private schools offer financial aid or discounts, so it's worthwhile to ask about these options.
