Rushton School is a campus-based school serving young people, ages 12 to 18 years, who are experiencing emotional conflict. Located on the campus of Gateways Residential Program and licensed by the State of Alabama Department of Education, Rushton School meets the educational and emotional needs of children through a team-oriented treatment approach. Students are assigned therapists who work with the family and the child simultaneously during placement. Therapeutic recreation, counseling, field trips and group work are also included in daily treatment activities.
Private schools, including parochial and boarding, are funded through tuition and fees. The cost varies from school to school, but most families pay tuition to attend them. Many private schools offer financial aid or discounts, so it's worthwhile to ask about these options.
